We purchased this car from the second owner in May of 1998 with only 8,637 miles. The first owner, a lady from Rockaway, New York, purchased it new on July 27th 1971. She put most of the 8,600 miles on it because the second owner was a Mercedes collector who showed it, but drove it very little. We spent over $10,000 servicing & detailing it before selling it to another lady owner a month later in June of 1998. She drove it a total of 9,493 miles in the next 14 years until we purchased it back with just 18,131 miles. This amazing, original survivor car is in pristine condition with no rust or accident damage. Of course, it has the correct original fender notches and original spot welds. We removed most of the chrome trim to do a complete compound, buff and wax to bring it back to like new luster and shine. It still has the the original wax inspection marks inside the headlight buckets that were done on the assembly line, as well as the original undamaged rubber (NLA) heel pad on the drivers rug and the original, never mounted Continental white wall spare tire and wheel.

As a result of it mostly sitting the last 3 or 4 years, we just completed a major service and update at a cost of well over $20,000, which includes all new tires, brakes, battery, exhaust system, suspension bushings, engine mounts, transmission mount, subframe mounts, etc., as well as a new canvas convertible top. It is very well equipped with a 4 speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, rear third seat, Becker Europa AM/FM radio, Hirschman power antenna and both tops. It comes with all the original books and manuals, toolkit & chrome top removal handles, and the original window sticker and metal data plate.
