On December 6, 1980 Dr Steven J. Scully of Nashua NH took delivery of this 450SEL that he special ordered from Smith Motor Sales of Haverhill, MA. He specified the W116 as he didn’t like the design of the new W126 model. He lovingly cared for the car over the next 33 years using the car sparingly as reflected in the stamped maintenance booklet. An affidavit signed by Dr Scully accompanies the paperwork verifying the originality of the car and its mileage. He sold the car to a long established European collector who kept the car under his dealership care thus retaining the single owner status. We purchased the car from the dealership in November of 2021.
